Student Assessment (KSA #11)I feel strongly that testing is not the only way to assess a student's understanding of a topic. As a result my Unit Assessment Plan includes a variety of assessment techniques. Some of the techniques include, oral response, individual and group laboratory activities, performance assessment, quiz, WebQuest activity, and a unit exam. Below you can find copies of my Unit
Assessment Plan, an example of a Performance Assessment, WebQuest, and a Quiz for
the Air and Aerodynamics Unit.

SummaryMy PSII Semester was completed teaching Grade 6 at Cardston Elementary School. During my time at this school I taught Science to 110 students in four classes. I also taught my homeroom class English, Health and Art.
Letters of Reference & PSII AssessmentBelow you can find a letter from my teaching associate, Leon Atwood, and my University Consultant, Robert Miller, as well as my Formative Assessment for my PSII.
Classroom Management Plan (KSA #7) Additionally, below you can access a copy of my Classroom Management Plan. I feel that developing an effective Classroom Management Plan was key to my success with the Grade 6 students. The first two days of teaching were spent getting to know the students, letting the students get to know me, and establishing expectations and procedures for the class to run smoothly. By establishing positive relationships with the students and having clear expectations and procedures, students felt comfortable in the classroom and were ready to learn.
Unit Plan Grade 6 Air and Flight (KSA #6 & #9)When creating a unit plan it is important to not only incorporate the desired learning outcomes, but also to consider what lessons and activities will motivate and engage the students to learn. By creating a unit plan that had a diverse set of activities, assessments, and methods of teaching I was able to successfully accommodate a wide variety of students needs.
